This collection is a compilation of manuscripts, correspondences, publications, speeches and lectures relating to the career of Dr. Charles V. Hamilton. Dr. Hamilton was a political scientist, professor, civil rights activist and author. Known for publications such as Bench and the Ballot: Southern Federal Judges and Black Voters and Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America, alongside with Stokely Carmichael, later known as Kwame Toure . Hamilton and Carmichael worked closely trhroughout their career and the collection highlights many of their interactions. Hamilton was known for popularizing the phrase "institutional racism". Hamilton kept the advancement of the African American community  at the forefront of his works.
